I partner with organizations to strengthen teams and cultures, create impactful experiences, and build powerful communities where people can thrive.

Facilitation

  • Facilitation is the art of guiding a group through a shared experience to make their visions come to life while fostering community, clarity, and creativity. Working with an external facilitator helps in ensuring all members of a group are able to show up and contribute as participants, rather than juggling multiple planning-related roles while trying to participate in a gathering.

    As a facilitator, I create accessible and inclusive spaces where participants can engage deeply, express themselves honestly, and explore the liberatory possibilities in their work and lives. I bring my keen attunement to group dynamics, intentional and adaptive approach to process design, and integration of embodied and creative practices to support partner organizations in hosting meaningful and impactful group experiences whose momentum and outcomes can be seamlessly woven into their work moving forward. I offer both one-time event facilitation and ongoing facilitation partnership to organizations who are interested in having consistent support over time.

  • I design and facilitate virtual and in-person meetings, retreats, and larger convenings across the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors with the goal of nurturing equitable, skilled, and joyful organizations, movements, and sectors. I specialize in:

    • Retreats and meetings focused on supporting organizations in building their ideological, strategic, and emotional resilience (framing based on Maurice Mitchell’s piece on Building Resilient Organizations)

    • Convenings for grantees, donors, members, and other interconnected stakeholders to build community, learn, and plan together

    • Sessions and retreats focused on deepening into values of justice, liberation, and well-being

Coaching

  • Coaching is about cultivating deep awareness and equipping folks with the tools to take aligned and transformative action in their lives and work. As an organizational coach, I partner with teams to do individual and group work that creates the foundation for powerful systemic change.

    Organizations might be ready for a coaching partnership when:

    • They are longing or planning for change and transformation.

    • Shifting conditions within or outside the organization are requiring them to stretch

    • Conflict and tension are surfacing in ways that they don’t yet have the capacity to hold fully

    • There is internal misalignment, confusion, or stuckness that they need space and support to move through

    • How they are in relationship to one another would be strengthened with additional support

  • I approach coaching partnerships first from a place of understanding where a team or organization currently is, and designing a coaching program that will support them to move in a direction that is aligned with their most audacious goals and visions. As a coach, I focus on the relationships and patterned behavior within groups and facilitate skill-building and engagement that turns people inwards toward themselves and outwards toward one another. Unlike a training with curriculum, the people are the primary content in coaching.

Partnership

  • Partnerships support organizations to effectively resource their ambitious visions and greatest longings for the work they do. I provide training and consultation packages to organizations to support them in building their internal capacity to dream, design, and deliver the values-centered work that they are bringing into the world.

    Training packages include custom-designed curriculum and virtual and/or in-person training centering the learning outcomes that are a priority for the organization. My specialties include equity and justice, well-being, leadership development, organizational culture, and effective team practices around communication and conflict.

    Consultation packages include focused partnership on key areas of work as well as flexible banks of consultation hours to ensure partners have responsive and holistic support when they need it. My specialties include program design and evaluation, strategic planning, talent development, and management and supervision - all with equity, justice, and liberation at the center.

  • I engage in organizational partnerships first by seeking to understand the history, context, and present conditions of the organization. I work in collaboration with members of staff, board, and other key stakeholders to ensure my partnership approach is clear and responsive to the current and evolving needs within the organization. I ensure that my role as a partner is complementing and lifting up the existing capacities of the organization so that there is sustainability and longevity to the work we do in partnership.
